The Nation's Capital

Happy New Year! I very unexpectedly found myself in Washington DC for this event. I spent the past week at World Bank in DC working. Of course all work and no play makes Kathreb a boring girl (and I am indeed that). However, I did spend some time sightseeing on Sunday to view the essential sights of any trip to DC.

I saw: Capitol Hill sights including Congress and the Library of Congress. I also wandered the length of the Mall viewing, the Washington Monument, the White House, Lincoln Memorial, the Smithsonian Institute, the Vietnam Veteran's War Memorial, and of course, the Korean Veteran's War Memorial. I also got took a brief trip to see Jefferson Memorial.

Washington DC was great not just because the weather was mild, the sights interesting, and the work challenging, but because I got to fly over the continent which was exciting and saw that there is more to the US than just a university campus.
